Warehouses and Bin Locations
There are significant differences between the two products in their range of functionality regarding multiple locations. However, as these differences impact not just on Works Order Processing but on Planning, Traceability and to a lesser extent on Bill of Materials, they are dealt with under 'System-wide Differences'. Completing/Closing Works Orders
The Works Order status ‘Completed’ in the Sage 50 product effectively prevents any further processing of that Order. Stock is updated with the completed quantity. Costs posted to Stock Control and optionally the Nominal Ledger will depend upon user selections detailed below. No further entries can be made against the Works Order.
By contrast, the status ‘Completed’ in the Sage 200 product does NOT prevent further processing - additional costs can be entered. This is useful where, for example, a batch has been finished and needs to despatched but not all costs are yet available perhaps because time-sheets cannot yet be posted. The Works Order can be completed, stock updated and despatches made. It is not until the Works Order is ‘Closed’ that further processing is prevented.
Scrap Reason Codes
While both Sage 50 and Sage 200 allow components and finished items to be scrapped, only Sage 200 allows analysis of scrap by user generated Reason Codes.
